Inspired by the transformative journey from childhood to adolescence, YOUTH CAMPUS captures the vibrant energy of physical and emotional change.
This dynamic concept plays with contrasts—bold color versus monochrome, glossy versus matte, raw versus refined, smooth versus textured—creating immersive spaces that are both stimulating and welcoming. YOUTH CAMPUS also marks the beginning of a long-term collaboration between Maxime De Campenaere Studio and BeCentral, the future largest digital campus in Belgium. Spanning 11,000 m² and unfolding over three phases within five years, this ambitious project is redefining spaces for learning and connection. Vivid hues meet deep blacks, striking a balance between vibrancy and structure. Sustainability lies at the heart of the design: most materials are either natural or recycled. One standout feature is the kitchen countertop, crafted from recycled plastic by Smile Plastics—an emblem of the project’s eco-conscious philosophy.
Playful shapes evoke childhood memories—Hula Hoops are reimagined as table legs and pendant lights. The Youth Fountain desk, a nod to the mythical fountain of youth, features cascading lights and carousel-inspired elements, blending poetry and modernity for a uniquely engaging experience.
