Interior Design Concept for the renovation of a 140 m2 wooden house in Täktvagen, Sweden
The project is located northwest of Stockholm. It is a total redesign of a traditional wooden house.
While the exterior will be renovated in a traditional look and repainted in red, the interior surprises with its contemporary fittings. The clients wanted to have a greater permeability between the house and its environment. We therefore reconfigured the landscape with new bays that were cleverly placed to be perfectly aligned with the new layout of the spaces. We also dissolved the exterior/interior boundary by stretching the red color of the exterior siding all the way to the dining room. The sliding door with its red tinted glass is a nod to the client who is a photographer. Like a dark room, the color of the landscape is slowly revealed.
The project uses natural wood as a common thread. The design of the dressing room is inspired by traditional outdoor shutter structures. The bathroom is distinguished by the use of organic forms that contrast with the orthogonal environment.
